Skype 4.0 Beta feedback

I have used Skype since 2003.
And here is my short feedback to Skype 4.0 “bigstep” Beta.

Background
Skype 4.0 Beta was announced in June 2008.
Its for Windows op. system and has one big major change – one program window instead of separate chat windows.

Impression
Looking back to my first moments with 4.0 – it was little bit confusing (bigger, different), but the more I use it, the more I like it.
It keeps all my Skype communication in one window and its really easy to follow up all chats. I dont have to manage many windows.
Its design is fun and easy.

I see that Skype is moving from small communication program to communication center field. Features of new 4.0 Beta bring it closer and even replaces e-mail.

New features that I like

• Chat log (overview) for every day;
• Possibility to mark chats “unread”;
• All active and missed chats are in line and marked with numbers

Things that I miss (not in this Beta)

• Birthday reminders;
• Skype groups;
• Skins;

For next Skype versions
I really would like to have my Skype chats archived at Skype server

If Skype is moving more into communication center field, then why not to merge it with popular email and calendar options – Gmail family?
